    Question

    what is an 80% lower and what machining does it take and do you need jigs.............??

    Follow the link. It takes the ability to mill out for the trigger group and drill the holes for the pins to hold same. Yes you need a precision jig to locate where to put the holes. You would also need one to align the tap to put in the buffer tube threads. Really without a Bridgeport type knee mill it is dicey that anyone can really do a good job even with the milling and drilling jigs. They say a sturdy drill press can be used, I doubt that statement.

    It's not rocket science. Equipment costs though... Ouch.

    as far as my mechanical ability, no sweat. but the tools and jigs I don't have and I would think it foolish
    to spend more on those than a rifle.
