Thumbs up AR Pistol Project Part III

Well the Red Dot sight, a Vortex Strikefire II I had on back order finally came in. This is the new gen of Strikefire 4 MOA dot sight. At just over 7 ozs. it doesn't add a lot of weight to the weapon. Unfortunately this adds another battery type to the mix a CR2. I thought it was a CR123, need to read the fine print better.

I still haven't shot it yet, hope to do that this weekend coming up. So far this sight seems to hold up to bright light and not wash out. The brightest setting is so bright in dim light it is painful to look at. The lowest 2 settings are Night Vision compatible.

Adding a Bill of Materials on the build to this post. With some photos for the more unusual bits n pieces.

Double Star AR-15/M16 RACE GUN GAS BLOCK it fits easily under the handguards.

    Looks good!

Makes me want an AR pistol.

I need to get one of those arm braces for the Draco as well.

Yep, you should. I've seen a Draco type with one of them on it. The local gun shop has a Sig AR type pistol that looks very much like what I just built. It seems to be the latest trend in firearms styling.

Your problem is lack of time, my problem is the range is an hour and a half from where my guns live.

Nice. I need a 5.56 suppressor in a bad way.

FYI, Primary Arms makes a sight just like that that takes a AA battery. Got one for my FIL. $120 I think.

Probably this one. It looks similar but weighs over 12 ozs. The Vortex Strikefire II weighs in at 7.2 ozs. I'd ordered the Vortex sight before these came up on Aim's web site. In as much as this was to be a light weapon / pistol, (ok it is a heavy pistol but a lot lighter than most rifles) I was looking for a lighter sight anyway. I'd of gotten the Sparc if I wanted to add a coin battery sight.

If you like that Primary Arms sight, Aim has it for $99 bucks.
