Actually that is a first model type telescoping stock that was used on the first Carbine versions of the M16 platform. It has only 3 positions. They can be found in two versions, all aluminum and molded plastic. The aluminum ones are a bit heavier and rattle. The polymer versions don't rattle.

Probably, but not for that long. So sue me why don't you, it is the 2nd model. The main point was it isn't out of place on the weapon.

Since this should have turned into a retro AR thread here's the dissipator

I got a set of nearly new triangular handguards for it, but you'd have to notch them out to fit around the gas block so I'm still looking for a set of beaters to use.

    Apology accepted

You should go lie down and place a warm washcloth over your face...unless it is a migraine, I have no idea how to put one of those bastards at ease (I get one every now and then).

You probably don't remember, but you and I used to argue and bicker back in forth years ago about this small arm or that small arm etc, etc....I also bought many things from you when you still had your FFL (before Paypal blacklisted me, LOL).

Anyways I hope you feel better soon.

No I don't remember any past history of discussion or sales. Have you always been in Michigan? I had my FFL the longest when I lived in NC.

Not trying to nitpick. I live the carbine and wouldn't change it if it were mine, I think it looks great.

But... I believe when they went to that buttstock on the 609/EX177E1 they went with the early round hand guards.

The shorty collapsable A1 buttstock would have been correct for a 607 which had the shorty triangular handguards.

Check out this site, lots of variants I didn't know about.
