    Found a Honey Hole

Was invited to a BBQ today up in the hills west of Golden Gate State Park. Son and a few of his friends. One is grand son of land owner....grand pa and my self started talking and the ole goat wound up with an invite for elk. Place is on the migration loop of Evergreen Elk Heard!! Small place and any shooting would have to be stand with very limited shooting path...think I can handle that. Gentleman said that after talking with me he had no problem with it. May just put in for a leftover cow tag--private land.

Ok let me get this. it is either a Bees nest, a old goat, a small close space ( that you could shoot and actually hit something) or a cow of some type?
hell buy at ticket and tell us what the cow looked like. shoot straight n good luck.

That's awesome man. I've always wanted to go elk hunting, but real hard to get a permit in this state.
Private land too, that is the way to go. Good luck on your hunt, post some pics if you knock one down.

LOL, my freezer ain't that big! Guess when I said cow, I forgot that some have no idea as to what different game animals are called. That would supply beef for a while!

Update, no tags were leftover for the invite area. Had to go back to the hills. Purchased a cow elk (not bovine) tag last night. Just gonna be harder work. Going up to Hot Sulphur Springs area.

Elk hunting, always wanted to try that. No Elk back here in the East any more.

Adog, Nov 12-16..snow in that unit can be nil to butt deep! 30 deg to -20...wasn't going to extremes any more but that's where the kids I go with wanted to go. Also, Oct due date on one of them kinda dictated the season!
    Ah, we'll make it. LOL
