    #NMOS14

National moment of silence 2014, for Victims of Police violence.

Heard about this on the radio, my literal reaction was to shout out "Oh, for fucks sake!"

Apparently the guy in the car next to me was listening to the same station, bust out laughing at my remark and gave me a thumbs up before the light changed.

Seriously, can't these assholes wait a few weeks before deciding to gather together? It's hard not to think that "a moment of silence" isn't going to end with hours of looting.

Apparently 90 cities across the country

Might want to check your area, facebook is claiming 1,100 confirmed attendees for the one here. The fun starts in 3 hours...I think I'll pass.

Good thing you're totally unarmed and therefore have no guns for them to steal.

Looks like it went off without a hitch.

Leave it to Kadmos, always siding with the police and against those that dare question them...

"That tyranny has all the vices both of democracy and oligarchy is evident. As of oligarchy so of tyranny, the end is wealth; (for by wealth only can the tyrant maintain either his guard or his luxury). Both mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of their arms." -- Aristotle, Book V, 350 B.C.E

Eh, question all you want. Perhaps put your questions in the form of writing, or speak up at a town hall meeting, go and talk to the PD, contact your representatives, lobby for whatever.

Running through the streets looting shit isn't "questioning the police" it's committing a crime.

I'm fine with this moment of silence thing, I just think it should have waited a bit. The response would have been bigger, less chance of it being heated. At least one radio station here did manage to go along with it, holding dead air for a minute.

But yeah, I'm overall for people behaving themselves and not being rude, inconsiderate, or violent to others.
