    Just call me curious George

    On my Longbranch no4 mk1* 1945 there is a small ring in-between the front trigger guard screw and the magazine. Does it serve any purpose?

    Can you post a photo? As I remember them the mag is so close to the trigger guard, I can't picture a ring fitting there.

    Pretty sure that's for tying a canvas cover in place to protect the action.
