where did you get, find it, buy it?
now I can understand the 174 grain weight.
I found that the sa 762x51 was a pleasure to shoot,
accurate w/o a whole lot of deviance.

I couldn't sleep last night. Something was bothering me about that label. It does not state a caliber at all. The gun show seller hand wrote 303 brit on it. I measured it out to some Iraq ammo I shot and it's a match.

By the way I almost did not buy my Enfield because or price/availabilty of ammo. Factory stuff at $16 and up for 20 rounds is pricey for me. I just search for cheaper surplus. I'm a retired working class guy on fixed income (ss only). 9mm,7.62x39 and 22 is it for me. However, as I only get to the public range about once a month and keep up practice with my sd hand guns I figured I would only be shooting the Enfield 2-3 times a year. But even if I'm not shooting her it's still just nice to handle. LOL.

You're a better man then me. I have to be able to shoot them somewhat or it would bug me to no end. I just got to see what they could do. LOL.

I have never shot my enfield, because I don't have any ammo for it.

If I was in your shoes I would spring for ONE box of 20 rounds just to shoot it. LOL.

I saw the handwriting on the wall about 2003 on .303 surplus. Sold my Enfields and all the ammo. South African .303 was good, the Greek HXP surplus was the best. Pakastani = the worst in .303 ammo. You'd be better off with WWII British corrosive Cordite loaded rounds.

A little off track here. There is a yearly antique show at the fair grounds once a year. One of the firearms sellers has an old Swiss Veterlli (?) that he has not sold for years. Wanted $200. In pretty good shape. I am almost tempted to offer $100. What holds me back is the ammo. It's a 10. something ammo and if it's in the original rimfire configuration almost impossible to find. If it has been converted to centerfire 10. something you MAY be able to find a specialty shop that deals in it. For 100 it might be worth to find some ammo and shoot it ONE time.

I still have a little SA 7.62x51, wish I had stacked it to the roof... I'd love to find a case or two of Brit 303... Good buy!
We found out what "dealing" with progressive lefties is all about. Our side gives up something, they give up nothing and the progressives come back in a month or a year and want us to give up more... rinse and repeat...
