The question which calibers don't I use?

Some ammo is simply surplus non-reloadable and corrosive.

I also stockpile non-reloadable ammo for the AKlones, cheap surplus rifles like the Turk Mausers,Yugo Mausers, Mosin Nagants etc.

If it can be reloaded and components are available we reload for it.

Some of the supply is really limited and special;such as .358 Win,.264 Win Mag, etc.I have more loading supplies than actual loaded rounds.

The more common calibers like .308,.223,9mm,.40 S&W,.45 ACP I keep a large supply of factory as well as reloads and triple the components.

    Handguns

    .22 LR
    .32 ACP
    .380 Auto
    9mm Makarov
    9mm Luger
    .38 Special
    .357 Magnum
    .40 S&W
    .357 Sig
    .41 Mag (edit this in)
    .45 ACP
    .45 Colt
    .44 Special
    .44 Mag
    .44/40
    7.62x25 Tok

    long guns

    .223 Rem/5.56
    .220 Swift
    .30 Carbine
    .25/20 Win
    7.62x39
    7.62x54r
    .308 Win/7.62x51
    .303 Brit
8mm Various loads for different diameter
    45/70 Springfield
    38/55 Win
    11mm for the 43 Mauser
    .358 Win
    .264 Win Mag
    .338 Win Mag
    .270 Win
    30/30 Win
    .30-06 Springfield

    12 Gauge
    20 Gauge
    .410 Bore

Edit: Cast our for the 11mm 43 Mauser.

I also from time to come across reloading components at garage sales or someone I shoot with gives me their brass. I have cases and reloading dies for .25-06 Rem, .243 Win, .300 Win mag.Less than 100 cases of each but good to have in the event I either pick one of these calibers up or someone I know needs them.

I don't stockpile anything, but I buy for all the calibers I have and seldom shoot them anyway, so I have quite a bit of ammo for anything I have.

    Mostly I have:
    .22 LR
    .45 LC
    .44 Mag.
    12 ga.
    7.62x39
    5.56

I have BP caps, powder, bullets, lead, and molds for all the BP calibers I have.

I am able to reload for every caliber I have and have enough cases, primers, and bullets, etc. to last a while. I figure if SHTF, then any ammo sources will dry up and it's good to be able to roll your own if you have to.

    Yes.

I have far too many and stockpile them all to one degree or another. Some, like 7.62 Nagant (or the formed 32-20 brass that I use) is not really stockpiled... but for the most part, the rest are - by most people's standards anyway.

Can't do it off the top of my head but I'm covered from .17 air rifle pellets of various flavors to 10 gauge 00. Only ones I don't stockpile because of cost and availability is 7.5X55 and 25-20.

Now here is what I'm talking about. Here's a gentleman (AKTexas) who loves firearms, but knows that some calibers are more important than others. Thus he stockpiles the important ammo, while still enjoying his collection. Wish I could do the same. But I can't, which is why I went down to 4 caliber/gauges.

I've got lots of calibers, but some I keep more of than others. From smallest to largest:

    .22 LR
    7.62x25
    9mm Makarov
    9mm Luger
.40 S&W (no guns in this caliber, just a few boxes of ammo)
    10mm
    .45 ACP
    .30 Carbine
    5.56x45 / .223
    7.62x39
    7.62x51 / .308
    7.5 Swiss
    7.62x54R
    30.06
    8mm Mauser
    12 Gauge
.50 BMG (No guns, just a little ammo)

As for numbers, I probably have more 30.06 than anything else. Lots of CMP ammo buying the past few months.

Really, you should "stockpile" because whatever you can buy TODAY is going to cost more TOMORROW.

I buy my stuff incrementally all throughout the winter and then shoot it all up in summer.

I used to have several different rifles, calibers, and different handguns/calibers. Before 08, I was already wittling down. Sold off .32's, the L1A1 (.308 WAAAYYY too expensive), sold the .45......I am trying to simplify my collection and calibers.

    I own
2, soon to be 3 tokarevs
    2 ak's
    1 sks
    1 m91/30
    1 marlin .22
    1 m48 yugo mauser
    2 bulgy maks
    1 nagant revolver
    1 beretta m9
    1 beretta 84BB

For all the rifles and most of the handguns I have complete kits. Spare mags, holsters, belts, mag pouches. Stripper clips.

I do not 'stockpile' 8mm, as its a gift from the wife, and I have never fired it (looks unissued). But I love it.....beautiful rifle.
    Have about 1500 in 7.62x54r,
    about 2,000 in 7.62x39
maybe a little over 2,000 in 7.62x25 (yugo)?
    about 1400 in 9mm
    about 900 in 9x18.....
    1,000 in .22 bulk pack.

    The main calibers are 7.62X25, 39, 54R. 9MM LUGER AND MAKAROV. .22.
