Been reading up on my Enfield and found some interesting facts about the way they are made. I have no intention of doing anything to mine because I don't trust my skill level and for range shooting fun it has decent accuracy. I see that the condition of the draws are important. Based on this fellows info mine seems to be in good shape:

The only thing he does not mention is when testing the barrel for play you put the butt on the floor. Grab the fore stock. Put your thumb under the front sight protector and press. Mine has the proper tension. However, if I press sideways (safety side to bolt handle side) there is slight movement. Going the other way (bolt handle side to safety side) there is no movement. I was just curious if this is something that would affect accuracy if one WAS looking to improve it?
