Strangely, I had completely missed reading the "missing girl" thread. I CANNOT BELIEVE that Kadmos came out with his shit... accusing a member of being "racist" because he was concerned if the girl had been near the Mexican border.

DAMN! Even if he really did think it was racist, THAT thread was no place to say so. Now that I've seen it' I'm not even sorry that he got banned... and LAGC had it coming for a year or more, so buh-bye to them both. The bullshit had reached critical mass and I'm glad someone finally flushed.

(on another note that missing girl story scares the hell out of me... my daughter is 13-1/2 and looks a lot like the girl in the pic... redhead and freckles... can't imagine what I would do).

I don't believe it is proper to discuss staff affairs in open forum but I will say that there was no vote on the banning. Things here have turned a corner in more ways than one.

I don't think "staff affairs" are really being discussed. It's no secret that LAGC and Kadmos have been on almost everyone's shitlist this past year and it's no secret that they were walking "the fine line".

And if there had been a staff vote, I am 100% convinced the outcome would have been the same. I haven't heard from anyone who DISAGREES with it.

Is it just me, or is this forum more lively tonight with everyone knowing that those two clowns are on the other side of the fence now? Seems like everyone is in better spirits now that there won't be any more thread derailments for a while.

I read the thread and my reaction was sort of "meh, not the worst he has ever said". I think over time we became desensitized to it. Bottom line it was the right thing to do. Don't second guess it. And since there is consensus its so much the better.

IMHO you did the right thing. LAGC seemed to like to start shit by posting countless "look how stupid this conservative is" or "global warming will kill us all" threads and then arguing incessantly with people who he knows won't agree with him.

Kadmos on the other hand liked to derail every thread and turn it into an I'm smarter and more enlightened than you are argument.

It made it hard to read the threads on here when every other one got turned into an argument.

I think things are lookin' up!

I think you're 100% right. We got desensitized to THEM. I guess what really got to me was seeing the pic of the girl who looks a lot like my daughter and then reading what Kad posted... he was more concerned about someone "looking racist" than he was about someone's DAUGHTER being missing. I was probably as "desensitized" to them as anyone, but the topic of that particular thread slapped me back to reality.
