    Pine Tar for Stock Finish

Are any of you familiar wth pine tar as a finish for wood stocks?

What are the benefits & disadvantages? Not as much on the web about it unlike BLO & Tung Oil. I read wher people use it for Finnish guns.

I am anxious to learn about it.

That's a new one on me. Never heard of it before in connection to gun stock finish. Pine Tar by definition is sticky as hell, I can't see it being a finish like Tung Oil, I could possibly see it thinned out in kerosene to be used as a stain on light wood like Arctic Birch.

Never heard of anyone using it.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!
