Makes Guinness taste weak and flavorless. The 2X is heavy and powerful.

Their regular milk stout tastes like a better version of Guinness.

Tell ya what; get a coffee cup full of 2X stout whatever,.....and the same volume of Bookers bourbon, slam both home in a single gulp and see what's what.

I'm a huge Guiness fan, but I'll check this out if I see it.

You might like their regular "left hand stout" better. Its made with real lactose and is super smooth.

The 2X deviates from the regular stout flavor a little bit. Has some bitterness and some other flavors going on.

Well, ran out for some supplies and look what followed me home. This is some really nice beer. Smooth but very scrappy burnt malt "chocolate" forward. Not flat but produces no head. I gotta agree with Funky on this one. I also grabbed a Rye Ale...to be continued...

I've never seen this stuff but many years ago I used to drink Mackeson's (sp?) Milk Stout, made in England. Probably the sweetest brew I ever tasted. Supposedly got the name from doctors recommending it to new mothers to produce more breast milk...seriously.

I forgot to comment on the 2XRYE Ale. Also excellent. Has a strong citrus note...believe it or not my first impression was grapefruit. Tasty brew.

I walked for 4 hours mid-day at Viola, one of our local conservation spot. Good deer population, really good turkey and squirrel populations. Damn few rabbits thanks to the yotes and bobcats. But it has a long horsetrail cut through it that also makes for a good trail on foot. I've probably covered every square foot on this place over the past ten or so years.
