which sks to buy as a shooter

I have been kicking around the idea of picking up a sks as a shooter. Since I know next to nothing about them, I figured I would ask you guys about which model I should get. I'm not really looking at it as a collectible/investment, more so as a reliable shooter.

I'd shop around for a buffafied Norinco. One that someone has added all the tactical crap to that way you aren't paying collector prices for a minty Russian. You might be able to find a Yugo 59 or 59/66 at a decent price as those were some of that last ones imported in any quantitiy.

+1. I see tactified and bubbafied SKS rifles all the time. I found my Chinese SKS on the cheap because someone deleted the bayonet and installed a Crapco stock. Luckily the original stock came with it so all I needed was the bayo and upper hand guard to return it to its former glory.

None are what you may call "target" rifles but I would agree with HK, the Albanian seems a bit more accurate than the others though the Norinco comes in a close second.
