Where do you get the 4 digit price tag?

For the time being I am starting to save. To have a real milsurplus 1911 instead of the reproduction of a milsurplus I have now would be a great addition to my Garand and Carbine.

Common sense, I'd be shocked if the shot-out beaters go for less than $800. I haven't seen a garand sell for less than $1200 lately

CMP service grade is still at $730. These are nice shooters, mine has a like new barrel. Even the completely refurbished rifles are only $1030. I am hoping a service grade 1911 will be in the $600-800 range based on what I have seen the "discount" is for buying through CMP. I am going to make sure my ordering information is up to date with them because I don't think they will last long if they are allowed to sell them. It would be great if they could get the Air Force and Navy stock as well.

field grade $630 and free shipping. " Bores will be generally good with only minor imperfections; the barrel crown may be nicked, and the muzzle may gauge more than “3” on muzzle gauge. The Throat Erosion will gauge less than 5 – well within US Army standards. "

personally, i would ( and did) go the extra $100 and get the service grade, but thats still not 4 digits unless youre counting after the decimal.

The President's objection is not a suprise. In fact I was surprised that this got so far along in the process before it was registered. Sounds like it is time to contact our Senators, even though both of mine think that the words "shall not be infringed" mean they can make restrictions at will (for the good of the children, don't cha know).

It will be interesting to see how King Barack goes about banning sales of something that not only is constitutionally guaranteed, but already paid for by we the tax payers!
