Question Who's REALLY making this AR Receiver?

Coep's Distributing sent me an email showing this AR receiver. It says "Colt Branded" in the email. Yep the Colt name is on it sure enough.

However, right here on Aim Surplus's web site is an Anderson Mfg. milled receiver that looks EXACTLY like it. They've had this product for over 6 months off and on. I'm thinking Colt is having Anderson do the Colt logo on their receiver design. I've never seen a Colt branded rifle with such a receiver before that looks like that.

To whoring ... possibly. But I'm a practical guy, I'd rather pay $39.99 from Aim than 99.99 from Copes where this "Private Labeling" experiment is going on.

On make a bad receiver, not sure but I would say the risk is low. I've built using; Stag, Rock River, DPMS, and now Anderson both as a rifle and a pistol. Never had a problem from a lower.

other than hesse, the worst lower i have ever bought is a AR57 lower. Read the reviews, damn thing wouldnt fit 4 out of 5 uppers i had. it was that out of spec.

bad enough I've chopped it up just to use the FCG portion for future projects.
