    My friend came across a P14. Was trying to decode the proof marks but it is getting confusing

    Looks like there are maybe a couple of conflicts. I read that the RE on the top of the receiver means Remington but the BM might mean Lithgow.

    Maybe it has gone through possible owners.

    it's remington, those are just the required proofing marks for british service.
