So I was at the range on Sunday ...

I was the only person on the rifle range and this guy backs his jeep in ... and the first thing he puts on the bench is a Michael's Machines MM23E 5.56 NATO Semi-Automatic Belt-Fed Rifle

    OMFG!

I've been thinking about getting a CZ 805 Bren but now I'm thinking "forget about it" ... take that money, dumping some of my other toys that never get shot and getting a beltfed just like it ... because honestly, it wouldn't get shot a lot either but it would be the perfect compliment to my registered HK sear

$11,995 is a lot of money, especially for a semi-auto, and it would require liquidating more than a couple toys ... but it was so F'n cool. I definitely don't need it, but then just like most of my other toys; need has nothing to do with it and if "Happiness truly is a beltfed weapon, maybe I'll finally be happy and will be over this seemingly endless addiction

Yes, I'm trying to talk myself out of it

That does look very cool! I can't say yes or no, that's up for you to decide. Nearly 12K is mighty steep but I gather your registered sear can make that semi a not semi. That would be very cool especially if you can suppress it. Now that would be pure SEX!

I LOVE what Vollmer did to the 308 version of that rifle.

THIS is what gives me wood.
    Its everything in one gun.

I hadn't even thought about that ... I do have Phantom 308Ti and the QD mount on my 53 clone that would fit right on it ... I'm still wrestling with the $$$

Yes, but a 2nd barrel is "extra"

That must be an amazing break on the end of it because I have a PTR 308 pistol and shooting at a siliout target at the waist, by the 4rd shot, with muzzle rise I was over the top of its head from like 20 yards ... IMHO, this is a job for 3rnd burst!

Well shit ... I guess I'll go out to the range and see if I can get over the belt fed itch with a beta mag on my 33/53 clone and hope I don't melt the handguard

So I went to the range yesterday with the sear and burn up some partial mags to see if spending $12K for a beltfed would really be "necessary" or if I can get by without it.

Kind of decided that while it would be nice to have a 23e maybe I should be content with what I have ... at least until the baby bird gets out of collage

Nice! I think I could be satisfied with those.
