Kind of a first. This morning when they were talking about the shooters a FNC host called the weapons used, "assault style weapons". Not assault weapons or automatic weapons but assault STYLE weapons. While it still may not be the most correct term, IMHO it's better than the others and a step in the right direction. Now it we could just get them to simple use "rifle" or "long gun" and leave it at that.
I did hear them the other day make the comment that the shooters rifles were "high powered" and could defeat police vests. Someone should tell them that pretty much any center fire rifle cartridge whether it's fired from a rolling block or a full auto will penetrate a standard vest. If you reported that aspect completely and correctly the low information crowd would better understand that to prevent shooting through a vest you would need to ban all rifles not just the "high powered" ones these shooters used. Then perhaps fewer Fudds would be in favor of "reasonable restrictions".

IMO once the sheeple find out that any rifle firing a round faster than 1500 fps can penetrate a Kevlar vest they'll simply want to ban all rifles. Why because they are stupid and cowards.
