"Two men from Afghanistan who are undergoing training at an Air Force base in Georgia have been reported missing, officials said Tuesday.

Officials at Moody Air Force Base, near Valdosta, said in a statement the two students didn’t report Monday to “their regular maintenance training” with the 81st Fighter Squadron."

There would be 2 lines of thought on this.
They decided to recruit Muslims in America to be jihadist's or be a sleeper cell themselves, which is sorta stupid. With all the knowledge they have learned here, they could go back to work for ISIS.
I think that's unlikely because;

In all the time they have spent here, learning their new skills, they have been immersed in out American culture, they have watched news broadcasts, they know how we feel about them and those radical islamists.

I would like to believe they knew they were going back, in a few weeks, to their 4th world shithole, to walk on dirt streets, without a Starbucks or Pizza Hut within a thousand miles. They made friends here, both Americans & other muslims, and have tasted the Glory of Bacon. Who the hell, in their right minds would want to back to the 'stan, except for those crazy jihadists.

It's a real sad state of affairs when that is the case. Then again, I think our founding fathers could have seen this coming in light of all this country has become. Or, more appropriately, what this country has lost.

One of the probs with them going back to isis as their air force is isis has little in the way of aircraft as yet (Turkish f16s and other Turkish ac notwithstanding). I saw a vid where they snagged one MiG21 intact, who knows what shape it's in.

My thought as well. As 5.56NATO posted this happened a year or so ago with no connection to terrorism. Guys just wanted to stay here instead of going back home. They probably did go on a bender though when I trained with Iranians from late 78 right up the revolution there was no fraternization between officers and enlisted. Of course that was a long time ago and these boys aren't Iranian so things may not be the same now days.

I remember we went through a part of a training base in the linguistics section and it was jam packed with french, african and arab folks.

It was super clean, felt like another world.




I can't remember where it was but I remember that their dining hall sucked.
