I went for a run today on a treadmill after doing some strength training in our building's gym. Everything was good until I started running, then I felt some pressure on the left side of my chest, pretty much over my heart. Didn't seem like much so I just sort of pushed against my chest to make sure it was alright. The pressure kept up, not much, just a little, but it wasn't going away, which I found concerning. I looked around and made sure the defibrillator was in the gym (it was) and there were people running next to me so I knew there was someone to use it. I checked my chest again because the pressure continued and I started to wonder if this was what a heart attack would feel like to me. I decided that I would check one more time and if it didn't stop I would stop running. I pushed against my t-shirt one more time and the pressure stayed but also started to itch. I reached inside my shirt and found a dryer sheet, bunched up and positioned over my heart! I removed it and the pressure went away. Step away from the defibrillator!
