    Wild Winter Weather

Well, it's more like Springtime around here (Eastern Md). Temps should be in the 30's to low-40's with occasional dips into the 20's.

Now, it's in the 70's, daytime, and 50's, nighttime. The next few days are supposed to remain in the 70's and not change until around New Year's, then start becoming more seasonable.

I've seen where the mid-West and South are being hit by major t-storms and tornadoes and more are expected today.

Strange weather, so far, this Winter.

How's it doing where you live?

    (Now, it's thundering outside...)

Yes, Georgia is also having abnormal high temps. It is very much around 70 here, should get even warmer as the day progresses. Raining and thundering with lightening out right now as I type this. The dog is going nuts like he always does with Tunder & Lightening.

Mid to high 60's here with rain the last 3-4 days. Looks like it will continue to rain most of the next week.

I got up this morning around 4:30. It was raining pretty good. Later on the thunder woke up the wife.

As Schuetz said a lot of rain and thunder. Here the lightening seems to be cloud to cloud but if you wish to
walk in my yard boots are a must, it is basically a swamp. We have had 1 3/4 inches of rain here (home)
in the last 24 hrs. but it seems to be breaking up, there are flood and flash flood warnings to the west of me
40 miles or so and it is 68 outside at this moment and was down to 65 during the night.
I saw a map the other day that showed the moisture we have is coming from the Pacific near Hawaii.

Add an inch to that since I last checked. So 2 3/4 inches in the last 36 hrs. The Interstates 20, 75 and 85 all have had flooding issues.
We were supposed to visit family today( 1 1/2 hr. trip) we decided about 5 miles from the house that this was not
going to be a good idea. We caught some flack from some other family members that have to basically take the same route.
Well the left home around 1p today and just got back home, 2:30p, after sitting on Interstate 20 because of the water.
They traveled about 20 miles round trip. So time wise they made the trip as far as covering the distance, nope.
Yeah I am gloating a little.

My lawn looks better today than in July, other than the dead leaves. Next few days threaten an inch of rain per day however.

Still to dark to check the rain gage this morning, but here are the
    NWS estimates.http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?p...d=FFC&loop=yes

10-15 inches near Montgomery and Columbus? Holy smoke. Still raining and thunder but I believe most
of the lightening is cloud to cloud still.

Add 1 1/2 inches to that rain total so we are at about 4 5/8 inches in the last 48 or so hours.

As of 0600, it was 67 degrees out and we've had 2.32 in of rain so far. It's supposed to get near 75 with the possibility of more rain later today.

It looks like the Jet Stream is doing a good job of keeping that Canadian air contained and el Nino is doing a good job of pumping warm air and moisture south of it.

Even though it is only 72 the humidity is awful. We just turned on the air to dry the house out.

Sunny and 83º here in East Texas, then rain after dark.
