Sen. Carrico (VA) Gets It Right

Why should the Governor be allowed to protect himself, at citizens' expense, when the Governor makes sure the citizens aren't allowed to protect themselves?

That's what Sen. Carrico asked and he's proposing a law that would put that into effect. Defund the Governor's security detail as long as the EO remains in effect.

Wonder how long he will last.

Completely agree that in a land that was supposedly set up where everyone was equal, top to bottom, why should the president be surrounded by soldiers armed with fully automatic weapons when we the people are not allowed to?

I worry for Virginia, That is such a great state in American history. It is getting to where population centers
    are becoming too powerful.

This can be traced back to changing the Constitution on how senators are elected. When they were elected by the state legislatures senators represented the state's interests and representatives the people's interests. Now that senators are elected by popular vote in each state, senators actually end up representing the large cities which is where the majority of voters live. This means that the states no longer have representation in the federal government, but the large population centers (if named they examples would be Chicago, LA, NY, DC, Houston, Seattle, San Francisco) are. As large population centers tend to be more dependent on government than more rural areas senators tend to be elected by promising to give things (social programs) to these large population areas. Too bad people did not understand, and to a large part still don't understand, why senators were not originally elected by popular vote but representatives were/are.

Asians fleeing communism, e.g., boat people, have moved to Northern VA in large numbers, and they vote for progressive liberals thus proving that no good deed goes unpunished. Asian Americans of Korean decent probably still hate commies. The rest of the Asians we let into the country in general want to turn us into the commie societies they fled.
