    Does this make sense?

Talking with my cousin about the Democrats wanting to raise the minimum wage and I realized something last night, but does this make sense or is this too conspiracy theoryish?

If the current minimum wage was say $10, if you raise the minimum wage to $15 dollars, within a few months the prices and economy will adjust to everything costing more. For example in Australia a McDonalds worker makes around $60,000 a year, but everything is more expensive, food, drink, housing, vehicles, etc. So that worker in Australia can say yeah I make $60k, but he does not have a higher standard of living than a McDonald's worker in Ohio.

So the minimum wage is raised to $15 an hour, within 6 months to a year the cost of everything scales up. So the guy (who I will call Mr. A) who was making $20k is now making $30k, but his purchasing power has not increased in the slightest. More than likely it is even less because his hours would be cut or laid off.

Now lets look at the skilled labor factory worker (Mr. B) down the road from him. This guy runs a large press, and makes $20 dollars and hour, when the minimum wage was $10 he made $10 an hour over minimum wage, enough money in a small town that the wife doesn't have to work, they can own a home and maybe put some money away. But now that the minimum wage has gone up he is only making $5 an hour over minimum wage, which means his purchasing power has been reduced by 25%. So yes he makes $40k a year, but with adjusted purchasing power he only makes $30k, while Mr. A is making $30k but once adjusted is only making his original $20k.

I think the leadership of the democratic party is pushing for a higher minimum wage to further drive the nail in the coffin of the middle class. With this move that is seen by millions as them trying to lift the poor out of poverty, it is actually just a cleverly disguised maneuver to widen the gap between the rich and the poor. Driving more people into poverty and more people to the democratic/socialist/communist platform. Kill the middle class and make the U.S. just like all the other third world countries, where you have the dirt poor and the ultra rich.

A lot of union wage contracts are tied to the minimum wage. If it goes up then the union wage will also go up.

Go look at Oregon or is it Washington?
They raised their minimum wage and businesses are closing down, moving, firing people to cover pay costs, and more.

I don't know if it is on purpose or they are just such stupid ass-holes they don't get it. What you describe is inflation and it does happen exactly that way. The minimum wage goes up but in the end shit costs more and they still have the same low lifestyle they started with. You want to make more money, get a degree in something other than text messaging and knowing who is king or queen of Pop Culture.

Then add that they've devalued the dollar almost 90 percent.

When was the last time a Democrat had any type of plan that actually had a way to make it feasible long term.

All the lemmings care about is there next piece of cheese. They won't see the cliff until the are off it.
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail." ----- Jack Burton 1986

No. This is intentionally LEVELED, just like a Crimson Trace, at the middle class. The middle class makes this Republic work and that is all that makes this Republic work.
Break the middle class. Game over. It is straight out of the communist handbook. And O.S.O.K., indeed the dems are fishing and they ARE fishing to win.
The ACA started all this and now every group is standing on the top of the hill and saying "we will finish the job". The homosexuals, the abortionist, black lives matter,
the state dept., the anti capitalist, the global warming group, no borders, socialist, da de damn da....................

Anyone who likes wage and/or price controls is a Communist. Both wages and prices should be determined by the free market, not government.

Both parties support indirect methods of reducing the economic power of the American people.

And add in the fact that part time will be more pay and may reduce welfare payments, and also may increase income taxes by putting the earner in a higher bracket
