Which italian M1 Garand receiver would be more desirable?

My birthday is coming up and my parents want gift ideas. I was eyeballing the M1 Garand receivers on one of the canadian gun shop websites and they have Beretta and Breda M1 Garand stripped receivers for $49. I was going to suggest one of those as a gift and then start piecing a rifle together out of it as a slow drawn out project. Unless this is a futile effort. I am assuming they are able to be assembled from a mix n match of random parts and still be a decent shooter. I have had a stock wrapped in brown paper stuck in the rafters in my basement for the last 10 years. There are new manufactured barrels available here in canada and i have seen lots of random parts around in my travels.

I already have a springfield 44 dated Garand that is matching and complete. But part of me would like to have one assembled as a shooter. I have been saving the good one because of the collect ability and not wanting to damage it in regular use.

Here is the pictures from the website. They have lots of each.

Is the Garand a rifle that i could piece together from random parts of different manufacturers?

other than final headspace , just about any part should fit any other gun.

My 2 cents is what's been said, either one is about equal in collector value. Frankly for that price you should get 1 of each and build up the rifles as you can afford the other parts.
