Service grade at the CMP is the best grade. Every rifle I have bought from the CMP has exceeded expectations...I bought a field grade carbine some years ago. The only reason it was a field grade and not a service grade is the Baverian Rural Police had ground the US carbine off the receiver. Otherwise it is a very nice rifle.

I think that would be close to an impossile task. All the M1 rifles and carbines are mix masters many times over.

    pictures are a must.

Are magazines common for these down there? How about ammo. Both up here are not scarce but you have to look...

Magazines are easy to come by. Midway and cdnn have them. Gun shows have them. I load my own ammo for the carbine as I have another one.

I plan on getting started on that as well. I got the dies and some brass and seemed to have stalled at that point.

I just picked up 200 brass for my carbine last month from Midway. I have a 500 pack of bullets somewhere in the garage. I just can't seem to find them. I will pick some up at the next gun show.
