My dad fired the last shot of the season

Rifle is officially over till the fall now. Since rifle on coyote ends the last day of March. Tonight took a special trip before sunset to the field for a coffee, Cigar and to fire that last shot. The target was of course the shooting rock. A rock the size of a deer body I have been using to check sighting on various rifles. My father is disabled and has a permit to hunt from a vehicle. Thats why he is shooting out my truck window. This was his first shot ever from my K31 and the first iron sight shot he has made in a long, long time. Rock is exactly 200 yards from that position. One shot one kill. Was a good time

Glad you got to spend the time together. Now get him a good rifle.
A model 700 in 30-06 comes to mind.

Ok good. But the most important thing is spending time together.
    NOTHING can replace that.

It's nice you could do that with your dad.
My dad was a businessman. Our interests never converged. Shooting time/gun discussions between my dad (rest his soul) was zeeerro.
I'm jealous of all you guys that hunt or shoot with your dads.

I object to the "Get him a good rifle" statement. A k31 is a very fine rifle and the engineering in them is excellent. 7.5 Swiss is every bit as powerful as the .30-06 round.
