    Weed Whacker

I need a new weed whacker. Price point between 100 to 200 dollars. I have a Homelite that is very old and is dead.

Any idea which brand to get from your experience?

Just for my house once a week. The Homelite is a ST-275 and it did a good job.

Shindaiwa is hard to beat for reliability.
I'm a die-hard Stihl Chainsaw fan but I would not buy another Stihl, Husqvarna, Poulan, or other weed whacker because they gum up so easily.

I agree or Craigslist. Stihl is the best you can get.

    stihl.

we use them at work. now, heres why i recommend them. sure, stihl make great products that are super expensive, and they work great, but most ppl dont want to pay $1500 for a chainsaw. BUT, they also make a bargain line of shitty products just like every other company. dollar for dollar, a $150 stihl is no better or worse than the $150 echo, or poulan, or husquvarna, or toro, ect... HOWEVER, we have found that the $150 echo, puolan, husky, and toro are all disposable. teh main reason i would recommend stihl over every other company is for the support after purchase. we have 15 yo stihls that we still have NO PROBLEM getting any part we need for them. while 6 month old poulans go on the scrap pile because we cant get bump nuts.

I have retrieved them from garbage day throw-aways, yard sales and a dent and scratch outlet near me. My favorite is a 4 stroke Craftsman that I use most of the time. My usage runs about a tank and a half of gas, three or four times over the summer, so I don't put a lot of wear and tear on them.

I buy the cheap ones ....Sure you can spend the $ on the expensive ones that last for 10-15 years and yes they are better in every way easy ....but fuck the price on them .... Id buy this if I was looking for one.

I use a 4-cycle Cub Cadet straight shaft. . Luckily more and more gas stations are selling real gasoline in the area.
