Exactly. Trump might not be the best candidate for president, but there is one thing about him you can't say, that he is a cookie cutter isle crossing republican in name only toting the party line. I don't think he sold out his party, I think he has been wise and very professional throughout this entire process. Remember, he was investigating the Benghazi debacle of which the President and Secretary Clinton were involved. The Democrats, helped by the MSM, tried to portray this as a partisan witch hunt being led by the Republicans, specifically Trey Gowdy. Then the 800+ page report and about a 55 page summary was provided that provided clear instances of incompetence and failures of leadership (including the unanswered question of who countermanded the Secretary of Defense's order to send in a rescue team) and was clearly not a political document. (The Democrats response was very partisan mentioning Trump, someone who in no way was involved with the investigation over 20 times.) This meant the MSM had to try to get Representative Gowdy to try to seem partisan by asking him if either Clinton lied. He did not rise to the bait so now the MSM is left with trying to paint the Benghazi report as exonerating Secretary Clinton, which it definitely does not do. Luckily for the MSM most people won't read the report or even the unbiased summaries so they will be left with the impression that nothing was found that showed Secretary Clinton did anything wrong. We perpetuate this myth by attacking Representative Gowdy because he didn't find a way to take Clinton to trial. That was not the point of his investigation. We need to point out to people that believe this report exonerates Clinton all the failures of her leadership that this report documents, we need to ask who countermanded the SECDEF's order and why, we need to point out how Clinton has stonewalled the investigation (including refusing to turn over the e-mail from her illegal personal server), and maybe most telling, why half of the immediate actions that Obama and Clinton developed the night of the attack were about deceiving the American people as to what sparked the attack.

Because he wouldn't call Mrs. Clinton a liar most of the fence sitters now think the report you think is so great represents nothing more than a multi-million dollar witch hunt. Why is it the Republican establishment will not attack Clinton (and by attack I mean go after her like they went after Dukakas with the Willy Horton based attacks)? Is Trump the only Republican who has not been castrated? The Democrats make EVERYTHING political and yet Republicans celebrate being "professional." Seems fucked up to me. The Republicans should fight fire with fire.

Have you read the report or even the summary? Or have you just seen what is being reported on by the MSM? No offense is taken but if you have done neither how can you say that the report does not point out how she lied or how someone, most likely her or someone in her State Department, over ruled SECDEF's order. This is a big deal that no answer was provided for because she has done everything she can to not provide information to the committee, which Rep. Gowdy has pointed out. It is not Rep. Gowdy's place to make political attacks, at least not in this report. He did what he was supposed to do, uncovered as much of the facts of that night as was possible given the way the Democrats have prevented and hampered the investigation. It is now the MSM who should be reporting on how the Democrats are the only ones to try to make political points out of Benghazi and other Republicans, those not associated with the report, can make the same points. For Rep. Gowdy to make those points, other than the way he is, would be to undermine the report and hurt the Republicans running this year. I still stick to my original response that it is up to us to point out the hypocrisy of the Democrats using this report as another piece of ammunition for the war we are in. Thinking people and people who do not pay attention to the news and whose minds are not too muddled with pot and public schooling will understand and be disgusted by the way liberals and the MSM are trying to use this and will turn on Clinton.

I heard Gowdy at the press conference and his lame comments said all that needed to be said. I have neither the time or interest to read the 800 plus page report and that is true for most other Americans. In the next six months or so more people will read War and Peace than read this report and not too many people will be reading War and Peace. I don't need to read an 800 page report to know Clinton is a liar. However the fence sitters don't have a clue that she is a liar. That is why Gowdy should have called her a liar and fed out a few carefully selected sound bites. Every other sound bite should have used the word lie or liar. This is the way the game is played. Gowdy sandbagged his party. He knew what he was doing -- I know this from the sound of his voice. If the Republicans hope to derail Clinton with 800 page reports and appeals to thinking people it ain't gonna happen.

I am not reading the 800 page report either, but as soon as I can find the summary I will read that and I have been reading the various press releases on the Select Committee on Benghazi website. While they devoted 55 pages to attacking Republicans and the Select Committee, only 36 pages were about the "Courage and Heroism of First Responders."
The Republicans hope to derail the Clinton's using truth and integrity. To drop to their level will only help her. As I have said multiple times, it is up to us to get the truth of this out there as the MSM is doing all they can to cover them up. And, as I posted above, it turns out that the Select Committee on Benghazi website is full of useful information that was not covered by the MSM, including press releases that show how dishonest the Democrats have been in this investigation.
