A mind bender of a video - circles or cubes? things look different in the mirror.....

Now these are irregular shapes that LOOK different depending on the angle upon which you are viewing them. I know this effect. I've seen sculptures which look like nothing from one angle and clearly something from another angle. But this video still blows my mind after several viewings. I 'know' the reason, but the eyes can't fathom what we're seeing.

Watch the vid but stare at the center of the screen and watch the movement from both sets of hands. They are NOT moving at the same time.

How do you get complicated inter-looping designs where they are not there in the originals but are there in the "mirror"

That vid addressed ONLY one item and not the rest. Just watch the vid and notice that the hands move at different speeds.
Use your peripheral vision to watch both hands.

I didn't notice any delay, at all. I did notice the camera is placed at an angle above the mirror. Don't know if that would have anything to do with the way you're seeing it.
The eyes are viewing the hands, and objects, at two different angles at the same time.
