    I think I agree.
I'm not going to the range though.
I'm just going outside so my wife doesn't yell at me.

    Now....what to scope it with?
    Decisions...decisions.

We are on 12.5 acres here but we have neighbors both to the left and right and then directly behind us now. Can't risk shooting out here unfortunately. The rule I use for glass is match the price of the rifle or double for the good stuff.Like on the .264 Win mag,1k gun 1k glass to match.

Looks pretty similar to mine. However, I had to put a bunch of extra money into mine to fix all the shit that was wrong with it due to Rugers crappy quality control on their newer products. I started with a standard target version with a laminate stock. That thing was a wobbly POS. It had sling mounts, but they were only 1" and integral with no quick detach. I replaced the factory stock with a Hogue. Looks just like the one on this new gun. Then I ordered a set of 1 1/4" swivels so I could use a standard web sling.

I also replaced the factory trigger group with a new one from Volquartsen. The newer factory ones are cheap plastic. The volquartsen is solid metal and it also gives me a better mag release and a bolt hold open feature that actually works correctly and has a quick release. Finally, I replaced the extractor because I was getting constant stovepiping from the factory one.

Bottom line, I'd be really hesitant to buy something new from Ruger these days.

I blew over a grand on my Savage 308.
Then blew over another grand on the scope for it.

I'm looking to go less expensive this time for sure!

Sorry to be a downer. You would probably be better served looking for an older 10/22 and adding a few custom parts to it to get something like this.

There was a review on the old Gunsnet about these. The review was positive. They are the most expensive of the 10/22 mags but they may be worth it.

    Nah.
I think I'll get this, and then just replace whatever part I may have trouble with.
    I like it's size.
    I like it's looks.
    I like it's barrel.
    I like it's accuracy.
    I like it's price.

Looks like there is more than one version of this mag?
    I didn't know that.
