I keep seeing just Plum, or Black. Did the Russians make a nice brite Reddish/Orange Pistolgrip like the Polish and Romanians? Or was that Brownish Color all they had? Paul

Depends on the iteration you are looking at. The type III has a wooden pg that is the same color as the buttstock and handguard - which is a redish brown color. That's the last of the milled. After that the AKM was produced which has the stamped receiver but I think they also had wood pg's.

Yes I can still buy the Laminated Wood AKM Grip from Robert RTG Parts, I have seen The Plastic ones in Black, Plum, and some sort of Brown, I don't know it they made that nice Reddish Orange Color like the Polish and Romanians.

I found the Medium Brown, they used before going to the Black in 1990. Got one off Gunbroker today.
