FN 49/ Yugo SKS range report

Took the Venezuelan FN49 and an Yugo SKS out to play

First up was the FN 49.

    http://
I have only shoot this gun one time before, years ago just to get it regulated.

1970s surplus ammo. The sights on this thing are beautiful, too bad I can't focus on the target with my glasses on. The two stage trigger is a little stiff.

This gun has the potential to be a real tack driver. A little smoothing of the trigger, some quality ammo and a better shooter, is all she needs.

Next up was the Yugo SKS. Wolf ammo.
Let's just say,,,,,,, I know why the Yugoslavians felt the need to put a grenade launcher in these LOL

I'll get some pics up when I can

Can't wait for the pics. I've got an FN49, but haven't shot it yet. Gotta get out and shoot it soon.

It's a shame I not a good enough shot to make it live up to its full potential

I field stripped it today to give it a proper cleaning,,, and noticed the stock was a little loose because the rear stock screw was loose....

I don't know if I took it to the range loose or it just shot loose... ether way all I can say is what a gun!!!
It can do well despite my poor ability, poor sight, maintenance and surplus ammo !!!

SKS rifles can often be finicky about ammo brand. Try getting different makes of it, you might find one that tightens that up quite a bit. BTW that is a very very fine FN 49 you have. Congrats!
