    The 0bama legacy

Obama Took $2.6B From Vets To Give To Syrian Refugees

The Secretary of Veteran Affairs, Robert McDonald, told Congress that if they are not provided an additional $2.6 billion, they will be forced to deny veterans the care they deserve.

Since 2008, the VA has been so underfunded, they are forced to deny vets everything ranging from doctor appointments to suicidal help, and now Obama is cutting their funding by $2.6 billion so that he can resettle Syrian refugees inside the United States.

Congress was forced to vote on and pass an emergency spending bill worth $3.5 billion.

Immediately following that, Obama’s administration sent an additional $4.5 billion to help rebuild Syrian mosques and homes. On top of that, Obama has sent an additional $419 million to Syria for “humanitarian aid.”

I don't think that website is reliable. It looks like there was a shortfall, not a budget line cut, and the that the money used to fill the shortfall came from another VA program which had excess funds (hence the idea there was a cut). The total VA budget looks to have stayed the same but money was moved within different accounts to cover expenditures.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

I'm sure you're correct. The billions sent to Syria to aid moderate isis in rebuilding their homes and mosques was just laying there unused.

That is a different issue. The article you posted said that the VA was unfunded and they were underfunded in order to send money to Syrria, but that is not true. They were underfunded in one area and over funded in another area so the VA had the money needed to cover obligations (whether they had the management necessary to spend the money appropriately is another matter). The use of money in Syria that was not obligated, or going to be obligated, to the VA is a different issue.

And yet the result is the same, rapefugees get handouts while vets get nothing.
