    firing range uh-oh

yesterday at the range i shot my 9 mm ruger. my wife shot her 32 acp. my pistol fired and made a pap sound. i thought it might be a squib. so, i dropped the magazine and cleared the chamber. the rage master and i retrieved the brass. in all my years this had never happened to me. it goes to show it can happen to anyone at anytime. fortunately this one had no bad endings. be careful.

Its a .32 acp, look at the rim.

I'm surprised that a 9mm magazine held it.

Yep 32 - and it can happen to anybody - especially when there are distractions... but no harm no foul in this case.

i think the case split from the expansion in the chamber. i would like to have seen the bullet going through the barrel and what it did after that.

So I guess you can't fireform 32 to 9mm. Glad you didn't get any in your eyes or anything.

Damn, glad to see there were no ill effects other than a puckered sphincter. I had one of those moments last year shooting my Glock 35 (.40 cal tactical/practical). I was shooting 9mm and .40 that day and ended up with a 9mm cartridge in the magazine. Like your incident, it sounded like a squib and the slide didn't cycle. I pulled the slide back and saw a 9mm casing in the chamber.
