Ms. Streep, in New York City accepting an award from the Human Rights Campaign, referred to the backlash she received after the Golden Globes in January, when she gave a speech denouncing Mr. Trump.

“It’s terrifying to put the target on your forehead, and it sets you up for all sorts of attacks and armies of brownshirts and bots and worse, and the only way you can do it is to feel you have to,” Ms. Streep said. “You have to. You don’t have an option. You have to.”

It was not immediately clear to whom Ms. Streep was referring in using the loaded term “brownshirts,” which was originally applied to a paramilitary group that assisted the rise of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany.

Streep was a major character in the miniseries "Holocaust". She played a Gentile who was married to a Jewish man who was sent to the concentration camp. But just ACTING as a victim of the Holocaust on a TV series (long ago) doesn't make her in any way knowledgeable about that era. The liberals constantly bring up the SA and always seem to confuse them with the later incarnations of the Nazis (and the 'SS").

She, and all the Trump-hating Left, are suffering from Trumpophobia (the irrational fear of Donald Trump). Everything they say and do is Trumpophobic. They have no grounding in basic common sense, hence they voluntarily continue to hate Trump. It's much easier to hate Trump than it is to face reality and see what the Dimocrats/Liberals have done to our country and culture.

They are characterized by their hatred of all that is American and gladly head towards the total breakdown of society, so a new socialist America can rise out of the ashes, not realizing they will become nothing more than the servants of those who will rule.

She's a GREAT actress. I won't deny her talent. But that doesn't make her either SMART or EDUCATED about the ways of the world. Because people listen to her, she thinks she actually knows something. She does not.
