Canada was the first Country, behind us to leave the British Empire on 1 July, 1867. The True North Strong and Free! Has always been a far, far, better, and Stronger Friend to us, than England could ever hope to be! Through my Many Contacts over the last 7 Years in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, I have learned much about them. Not to mention my Dad's "Great Trip" of May, 1962, when he as a CW2, Bandmaster, got Orders for Ft. Richardson, Alaska. The Memories of The Yukon, and British Columbia I saw while on the Trip as a Small Boy of 7, have stayed with me always! Now in a Matter of Months they will be 150 Years old! Canada was a late Bloomer in other ways, it took 1949 before they got their National anthem, and 1965 for their Flag. It was also this great trip that I got my life long Love for Chevy's as my Dad's 1960 Chevy Parkwood, Station Wagon with the then, largest Engine of that time, the 348 V-8 made 2 Trips from Jacksonville, Fla. to Ft. Richardson and back. I have a great Photo I got off the R.C.M.P. Site, if someone can get it out of my Gallery and Post it here, I thank you. Also to mention, the R.C.M.P. itself, will be 150 Years old in 2023. Sometime either before or After I retire, I will return to British Columbia! I have never been to Vancouver, I had to settle for Dawson Creek, However going to Vancouver is on my Bucket List to do. Paul
