    Nike missile silo

Took my scooter for a ride out to the Everglades where they have an old Nike missile silo.

Really cool piece of history, they won't let me fire it so no range report LOL

    Same here,
There used to be a couple in my area growing up. On Sunday afternoons they would offer a small lecture to the public
Every so often the missiles would be raised and you could see them as you drove by
All gone and now subdivision instead of cornfields
    That's pretty cool
For peace of mind, resign as general manager of the universe

Great memories as a kid growing up in NYC, my father would take us to the local Nike batteries and watch the weekly drills. Something that will stay with me forever. Thanks for the reminder!!

I had to look up what that is. That's a pretty cool piece of history; I read that not a single one of these missiles were ever fired during their service years.

I've never seen one of those. I must be in the wrong part of Southern Indiana.
