Exclamation Wow! as of 2017, 14 Nations still Fly the Mig-21!

I was looking at a Video on www.youtube.com about the Current North Korean Air Force, and noticed that one of their Fighters, not the Top one! that was still on Duty was the Mig-21 Fishbed Fighter. Went on a Search and found out there is still 14 Countries all together still flying that Plane, as of this Year! Unreal! I would expect the Mig-23 and Mig-25, and Mig-27 to still be Flying in most of the World, but not the 21! The list is long, Egypt, Several African Countries, China, and a few others. The 1956 Fighter first flown in 1959 is still going strong! I recall also back in the early 1970s some African Nations were Flying the Mig-9.

The B-52 bomber was first flown in 1952. It went into active service with the USAF in 1955. It holds the record for longest-serving use by any air force in the world, I believe.

I wonder where they're getting engines for the things, either they're replacing them or they're making nowhere near rated thrust after decades of service with african engineering.

I decided to go back to the Link on Wikipedia and write down the 14 Countries as of this Year still using the Mig-21, however some such as India may soon be finally retiring theirs.

China used to use the Fighter as the F-7, now they have some Hybrid, with the front of a Mig-21, and the Tail Section looks totally Different. I think it is called the F-8? One rammed our Recon. Plane back in 2001. Paul
