I've got this ROMAK: (the colors weren't my choice, they sent me the wrong ones and it was too much of a hassle to send it back to get replaced. I figured it was just easier to lay a camo job down on it after awhile)

This is my MBR Project over on the Morningstar Saga forum (Linky: Morningstar Saga Forum - MBR Project

PS: NFA1934, how much was that whole suppressed 1911 package minus the pistol? If you don't mind my asking.

AKTex, is that one of Taurus' 24/7 OSS's? How does it feel and had a chance to wring it out yet? Curious if Taurus has gotten its quality control back in order to salvage its reputation. Like the taurus 1911, got one myself and it's been great.

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson

Yes it is.I bought this for my son as his first full size pistol caliber handgun.

I have test fired 100 rounds of factory Monarch FMJ,100 rounds of Factory UMC FMJ,100 rounds of reloaded FMJ and 100 rounds of reloaded Lead round nose.

All fed 100%,all ejected 100% and consistently right behind my shoulder. The FMJ shoot slightly tighter than the lead round nose.Super accurate, full sized mag holds 17 and Mec-Gar makes a flush fit 20rd mag going to order some of those soon. The grip is narrower than the Glock 17 I handled.Fits my hand comfortably,my son really likes it and even my daughter enjoyed the pistol.

I took it to the lease and was shooting rocks in the creek from about 35 yards without any problem.

Good gun for the money.I think I paid just over $400.00.

Some people tell me not to "Tapco-fuck my AK" but I'm kind of partial to the feel. The angle of the stock puts the sights right in my eyeline. I love it. I do believe I'm going to find a way to take the top rail off the foregrip--it's not easy to acquire the front sight post because the rails are the same color, even though there is a slit for me to view through.

Also, this furniture is an upgrade from the low-quality wood I had on it before.

Your AK do as you please.Any AK is good in my book.I can see how that top rail would interfere with the sights.Tapco has just gone all out on their plastic stuff. The stock is the only thing I would be interested in.

Definitely good quality for the price. I'd suggest it to anyone.

Okay, you went with the 9mm. That's good to hear that it's running like a champ. I was interested in the .45, but since I have a g21sf with 5 mags already I decided I'll let it slide. Still wanting a high-cap 1911 one of these days though.

I wanted the OSS in .45 ACP for myself but they were on a serious back order in the Desert Tan.So my buddy pulled out of the back a G21 standard frame with a internal lazer...A freakin lazer! So with G21 he threw in 6 13rd mags in with the gun all for 575 OTD.I saw in the Taurus catalog they are planing a double stack 1911.Other than Taurus is the Para Ordnance the only other double stack 1911?

For the love of God, don't buy the Taurus. Worst CS, or lack of, I've ever dealt with. And chances are, you will need it.
Springfield was making a double stack full size. I believe STI does also.

I have had issue with taurus revolvers. So... I, personally won't buy another Taurus, but if it works for you, great. I just wouldn't suggest one to a new gun buyer, and will relate my experience.

Springfield does still have a double stack....I emailed them month or two about it. I totally understand where AK-J is coming from. But so far my Taurus 1911 has been nothing but reliable. Right now I'm leaning toward Para due to them being more affordable and cheaper mags than STI and SA.
