    Question Price check Finn M91

Been years since I added any Milsurps and ran across this M91. Not sure I can link the photo using my iPad but I'll try. It's got the Finn sling hangers but doesn't look to have the Finn two piece stock. What are these selling for today? P.S. This is an estate auction not a private or retail purchase.

Looks like it has a bayonet reversed on the muzzle.

OK my first attempt to reply got vaporized some how. I see Arshin type original sight. It is definitely a Russian 91 stock not Finnish. If it has a mint shiny bore and the numbers are stamped and match, (not electro pencil engraved) forced matched I think it can easily be worth upwards of $350. Also depends somewhat on which arsenal it is; Izchvesk, Tula, Chatellerault, Sestroryetsk. Izchvesk and Tula are the most common, The latter two are much more rare and command a much higher price.

I just showed that to my wife. She thinks it would look good hanging over a fireplace.

That isn't so much a Finnish stock as the Finns kept the Russian stock and didn't restock it. You need to remember the Finns captured all their Mosins from the Russians. They did not make any receivers of their own, just rebarreled an restocked them.

Nah, a Flintlock looks much better over a fireplace.
