Local shop has had the Remington in stock but always sold out of the Mossberg. Today they had both in stock. Ended up with the Mossy for $402.00 OTD. As much as I was back and forth on these I think it will end up a fun if not especially practical addition to the armory.

Do any of you guys know if the Remington trigger guard is plastic, like the Mossberg?

Yes, same as the Remington Express series. You can buy the steel parts from Brownells.

Is it worth $15 for the OPSol mini shell adapter? I can see the appeal but the mini shells seem to be hard to acquire.

I thought about the mini shot shells, but like you said, they are not the easiest to acquire. Congratulations on your purchase! I really like mine, I think that you will too. Just start out with light loads to get the feel for it.

Just realized last night my Shockwave will only take 4 shells in the mag. The fifth only goes in about halfway. This is using S&B, 2.75", 00 Buck. Took it apart and no obstruction. Not sure what the deal is? Emailed Mossberg.

Problem solved. I never realized it but U.S. Shells aren't really 2.75". I measured the S&B last night and they were exactly 2.75". Remembered I had some Remington low brass target loads and loaded five in the mag no problem. Measured them and they are almost exactly 2.5". Now I seem to recall reading one time that we measure before the shells are crimped but overseas it's after the crimp.

Yep, my KSG will only hold 6 rounds in each tube instead of 7 when I use Royal Buck. Congrats on your new addition.

I thought they were 2 3/4" when fired... You might have a box of 3' shells. ...

Some manufacturers roll crimp the case mouths instead of star crimp them, which may make them slightly longer than the start crimped cases.

I got to handle both of these today. Personally, I liked the "feel" of the Remington over the Mossy.

I'm thinking it's due to being used to an 870 for nearly 20 years... It just felt natural to me...

The Shockwave was lighter weight. Not alot, but enough I could tell...

Congratulations! I saw someone post yesterday that Palmetto State Armory had them on sale for $300. Also pretty sure Mossberg now offers it in 20 gauge.

yep, mossberg is putting out a 20ga version .

sadly the local price and availability of 20ga slugs/buckshot is absurd.

There is now a box magazine option for the Shockwave. IMO it completely negates the primary feature of the firearm, that being it's compactness.

Doesn't do much for me. Not overly impressed with it.

I read where Mossberg has come out with a 20 gauge Shockwave, now.

Did you get it and did you like it? I am feeling a strange urge to buy this thing. I may order it from Gallery of Guns the next time my wife is not around.

Yes, I did pick it up. It is a hoot to shoot. You definitely need to hold on tight to it with full power shells.
