?s on cutting down to 16"s

I have an all numbers matching Russian, only missing the original dustcover. Im new to the SKS this is my first. I like it as is. Im not really interested in making it tacticool or anything. I would however like it more if it was a bit shorter. I see that there were what Im guessing to be a paratrooper version. The questions I have about going about it are:

Does the gas port need resized?

Does it really affect any measureable acuracy?

If I were to proceed, should I take time to readd a shortend bayonet?

Dont really plan on selling, but would it affect resale value either way?

No, the gas port will be fine.
No noticeable loss of accuracy. as long as the muzzle is correctly crowned.
Re positioning the bayo is possible.
Yes, it will effect the value and it will lose it's C&R status.
If sold it will have to go to a 01 FFL.

My opinion is DON'T do it.
    Find a beater paratrooper model.
There's no problem an AK can't solve...........

Yeah no need to change its CR status.... I think I will leave it alone, still have to find a suitable dustcover then.

    Good choice.
I would try to find a sterile top cover. (no serial #s).
If that is not possible, a non matching # will do.
I've seen a lot of AKs with mismatched top cover serial #s.

The route will not affect the value a noticeable amount.
