    Question Persian 98/29 worth $1,245.25?

Noticed on Gunbroker a 98/29, (not as nice as mine) sold at the end of March for $1,245.25 with 30 bids! Don't get me wrong. I've always thought mine was one of if not the nicest prewar Mauser I've ever owned but IIRC correctly when I bought it from Samco back in 2001 I paid $200 for it. At the time it was their "excellent" grade with only the "unissued" model with matching bayonet being nicer. Have they really gone up this much in value?

Was also watching a YT video this morning and the guy was shooting one that I'd rate as "good" and he was commenting that you used to find them for $400 but to get one like he was shooting in the video you'd need to shell out around $800.

While I still have a fair number of my Milsurps from back in the day I haven't bought or sold any in years so I guess I'm really out of the loop on value.
