They do that several times a year, hoping a free two or so week period would sucker us to buy the subscription.
It is nice but since I retired I don't drive enough to make it worth the money.
I lost access when my 07 truck was destroyed but I wanted to keep it and they told me I could stream it on my computer.
But, this was 4 years ago, they got back in touch and said I had to have it in my truck to stream it.
While no one ever listens to me,
I am constantly being told to be quiet.

last summer it was 3 months free.
not worth it IMHO, the rotation on the channels i listen to is worse than any regular radio station i've ever listened to.

I drive for a living at night, it's definitely worth it to me.
To me Radio is the last FREE thing on this planet. Unless I ever live in an area where there is no reception I will never pay for radio.
Plus I like the commercials, they tell me weather, news and upcoming local events.
