It sounds like every kooky group is coming out of the woodwork trying to take "credit" for this attack (ISIS, etc.)

I suppose it could be possible he's a recent Muslim convert, but I'm pretty sure gambling is against one of the edicts of the Holy Quran. So not a very observant Muslim, to say the least. One of the articles said he was partaking in some high-stakes casino games as of just the last couple weeks.

What they need to do is grill his long-time girlfriend Marilou. He rented that hotel room in her name, and it sounds like she's the only one who really knows him that well, as reclusive as he is, so possibly the only one privy to what was going on in his mind in recent weeks... it sounds like she should be coming back from vacationing in the Philippines soon.

Usually in these types of mass-shooter cases, there are all sorts of red flags before the shooter finally snaps. Especially such an elaborate plot like this. I find it hard to believe this woman could have been living with him for all this time and not have any idea what he was planning.

We all know what that means... bump firing.

A true full auto goes "bang bang bang bang..." with evenly spaced shots. The audio I heard goes "bang..bang..bang..bang.... bangbangbangbangbang.........bang..bang". It's not the fact that the shooting starts and stops, it's the fact that the rate of fire starts out "slow and smooth" and progresses to "fast and erratic". And, although it's impossible to tell from cell phone audio of far away gunshots with all kinds of echo, the rifle seems to have a harsh "clack..clack..clack" sound (sounds like a Kalashnikov).

And, since there are more than a total of 30 shots fired before the longer pause (for reloading I suspect), I'm guessing the weapon was an X39 Kalashnikov with a drum mag (the heavy drum mag has a lot more influence on bump-firing rate than a 30 round "banana" mag).
    Krup, you were right.

I have a different feeling about this shooting. It may be the one that the gungrabbers have dreamed of. I saw two people I know convert to anti-gun yesterday.

I'm starting to get a little suspicious of this whole scenario. It's almost too perfect of a setup for the Leftists to further their goals.

I have an idea there's a lot of stuff we won't be allowed to know about this guy and his motives. It's really interesting that if he wanted to die in a "blaze of glory," he would leave no note, or manifesto, about his reasons, etc.

This is starting to smell a little funny....

My guess is they were found either in the room or at one of his homes. Then again I'm just reading what it actually states in the article.

And I heard a snippet of Trump saying he would be looking at the gun laws just this morning.

What he said was "We'll be talking about gun laws as time goes on". Seems like they've always talked about the laws after one of these shootings, at least most Democrats have but that's as far as it ever goes. I suspect we'll hear the same old song about background checks even thought the guy passed the checks and the "gunshow loophole" even though we'll learn he bought everything at the retail level.

Two pics from the hotel room here. One installed "bump stock", two AR type rifles one with a red dot sight and fvg and one with a telescopic sight and bipod. Plus one 60 round quad stack magazine. Plus a small sledge hammer presumably used to smash out the windows.

If the photos are legit I don't see what they need to investigate as far as the bump stocks go, seems pretty obvious they were installed from the photos. Maybe they have to check to see if they actually work like they were designed. They've been around for a good while as I recall but I could see them trying to change the law regarding them even though, if factual this is the first instance of them being used in a crime that I've heard of.

It is remarkably similar to what happens in the novel "Enemies Foreign and Domestic"
"I didn't even expect him to come up here, thinking it was that sweet. Thinking it's that candy land like that," White said. "He wanted to pickpocket everybody. But people out here, they weren't going for none of that."

Also the first time I've heard of them used in a crime.

I think he was definitely using them based on the audio of the firing (as many have mentioned here) - the very fast but varying rate of fire.

Yes, it was 500m or so but one needn't be a marksman to hit a crowd of 22,000 people. WHY THOUGH? He's 64, not a bullied teenager. There must be more to this. Or is he really just a murderous nutjob?

Probably more like "the shooting may be the one that the gungrabbers have dreamed UP".

SCOTUS is scheduled to hear a case of a citizen vs state challenging the state's right to make laws more restrictive than federal law (and this case has to do with mag capacity limits).

And yesterday, the SCOTUS went back into session (perfect timing).

Perfect time to stage a "mass shooting" and sway both public opinion and SC Justice opinion.

Think of it... if the guy was firing blanks, how would the crowd know the difference? They would be running in all directions, stepping over each other and causing their own injuries.

I saw no blood in any of the videos or photos except for a little "red stuff" dribbled over a person lying on the ground (with the dribble streaks PERPENDICULAR to the pavement, meaning that the "blood" was dribbled on the person WHILE THEY WERE LYING DOWN.

An adult human body contains approximately 1.5 gallons of blood. Assuming on average that each person killed leaked 1/2 of their blood volume, multiplied by 59 gives 44.25 gallons of blood (and this is only for the "dead", it doesn't consider the "wounded".

Where are the pools of gallons of blood? Not a drop in ANY photo or video.

I saw not one puff of dust or fragmented pavement from bullet strikes, nor did I see any holes in the pavement "after the fact".

The photo of the guy lying on top of his "dead" wife grieving over her "headshot death" showed no blood from the "victim" on the ground. Not a drop... from a headshot?

The obligatory stock footage of a "victim" on a stretcher showed a conscious, non bloody person chatting away with the medic.

I still am thinking that this whole thing may have been staged, just like Sandy Hoax and the Boston "bombing".

If it was staged, how can you keep so many people from "spilling the beans"? Easy, just call them "conspiracy theorists" and, for good measure, add in the typical "you're dishonoring the dead with your kook theories".

    Works every time.

Don't see how a bump stock could be made illegal. First of all, if they WERE illegal, the shooter would have used them anyway.

Secondly, the definition of a "machine gun" is more than one shot per trigger pull.

A bump stock allows rapid fire, but it's still legal, semi auto one-shot-per-trigger-pull.

What then? Limit how FAST a person can pull the trigger? No more than 1 shot per second or some other BS? (as if the shooter would obey THAT law).

(edit to add): It sounds like gunfire is coming from two different locations in this video.

There are quiet, low toned "boom-boom-boom" shots that sound at least 1/2 to 1 mile away, and loud, sharp "bang-bang-bang" shots that sound less than a few hundred feet away.

And, I don't think it's echo. If it were echo, you would hear "bang-bang-bang" (a second or so delay) then "boom-boom-boom" (the same number of shots and the same cadence).

But, I hear the quiet "distant" ones all by themselves, and I hear the loud close ones without a matching echo afterwards (sometimes, not always)..

    Two different shooters??????????

You called it Krupski. Definitely not full auto, bump firing. Surprising. The guy has plenty of money to buy full auto legally. Maybe he just didn't want to wait 6 months, got his crazy on soon as he could.
