I had one of these during the muscle car days. It was a limited production collaboration with Hurst performance. 390 cu.in. 325 HP, borg warner T-10 close ratio 4 speed, Dana posi-trac rearend with 4:10 gears, and other go-fast goodies. Ran 13 sec. 1/4 mile at just under 120 mph, never met a roadrunner i couldn't beat.
Mine was the second production run, originally only 500 were built, but that was bumped to 1500. I bought mine from Randall AMC in Mesa, AZ, they were the performance AMC dealer in town and tweaked mine a little. These were the same guys that stuffed a 401 cubic inch engine in a Gremlin in '70 or '71, that thing was just plain scary.
That being said, the car itself was a piece of shit, build quality was terrible, side view mirrors fell off after 3 months, reclining seats broke, had to retighten the front and rear bumpers, rear widow leaked and didn't have a radio or a/c , but it was fast. Collector value is ZERO
