Pretty big hint with the Benelli written right there but no. Its an R1. Just test fired it. (Yes in the dark) Took it in trade. Came in the mail today. Really smooth action and very nice trigger. I am very impressed overall. I only fired 5 shots through it and there is no scope mounted yet. I was just shooting for a function check. But it is going to be a nice shooting gun. Its chambered in 30-06. So perfect... I reload already for my Garand.

I have heard a lot of nice things about the R1 and am a big fan of 30-06. Very interested on how it plays out for you. Sounds like a really nice rifle to begin with.

that gas setup looks close to what the 37mm and 1.1 inch hudson guns used.

Probably not. The mag is a plastic thing that fits the contour of the receiver.

Hey RCI? I've got a question for you.
Looking at that photo, on the barrel above that gray thing with the 4 red dots/lights (??), it looks like it says "Criobarrel". Is that correct? Is that one of those barrels put in liquid nitrogen to relieve stresses in the metal from manufacturing?
