Is it "Gun Control" if it's not even a gun?

If this is a “compromise” ,as the article implies, and we give up bump stocks, what do we get in return?

A bump stock does not turn a rifle into a machine gun. It's still one shot per trigger pull.

Also, you don't even NEED a "bump stock" to bump fire. I've been bump firing for years and I don't own a bump stock.

Lastly, how about we call them "recoil reducers"? That spring takes up a lot of the recoil shock.

"They" have even gone so far as to twist the military advice of firing in semi auto mode for better aiming into "semi-auto is more dangerous than a machine gun".

It's time to stand up and just say NO. I've had it up to my eyeballs with "gun laws" that only infringe on US while the criminals laugh at them.

So with all the info so far it looks like raising the age to 21 for all gun purchases. Tighten up background checks. Ban the bump stocks. That is it for now. Till the next shooting comes about and I'm sure it will.

So a guy who has to register with Selective Service at age 18 and decides to serve in the military can use machineguns, grenades and other stuff, but at home he can't touch a crappy semi-auto rifle or shotgun until he's 21?

    That is fucking horseshit!!!!!!!!

(on the plus side my younger son just signed up for his CHL class, so everyone except my daughter will be fully armed (she is only 16 so she has to wait a few more years)).

The way I understand it a 21yr old will not be able to purchase the AR15. Doesn't mean they can't shoot it or have a family member let them use it or be in there possession. Of course this could change or not.

I saw that one. Now this morning in this article it says nothing about any kind of AWB or high mag ban. Or maybe they just left it out.

Sounds good to me. Ban straight semiautos and repeal the NFA and one particular part of the FOPA..... And enact a federal law prohibiting any state restrictions on such......

Most of the mass shooters passed a background check because they never committed any crimes before. I wonder exactly how they are going to tighten up background checks........The friggin FBI and Coward county deputies ignored terroristic threats for cryin out loud. Does tightening up background checks mean if you've ever been depressed and taken medication or seen a doctor? How about if you've ever seen a psychologist or psychiatrist? I can see the slippery slope already....
