    New trigger design

Has anyone seen the TriggerTech line of drop-in triggers (for AR-15 and other rifles)?

They have a thing called "Frictionless Release Technology" and after looking at the explanation of how it works, I see that it's a very clever, simple and effective solution to the problem of trigger pull "feeling".

Instead of relying on "AK type" hammer/sear engagement designs, fancy moly-disulfide grease, weak hammer springs or other "tricks", this design uses a tiny hardened roller bearing between the trigger sear edge and the hammer sear edge. There is no sliding friction... the sear surfaces ROLL apart!

On their adjustable trigger, instead of using Loctite or a jam-nut or other hokey method to keep the adjustment screw from rotating, they use a spring loaded detent (kinda like the simply AK method of retaining a muzzle brake versus the cheesy crush washer or lock washer that an AR uses).

Anyone with an engineering background will look at this design and be very impressed.

Now all I need to do is:

    • Buy 3 of them
    • Convince them to make one in 0.170 (Colt large pin)
    • Buy 1 large pin trigger
    • Apologize to my wife for spending money on gun parts

Well, from an engineering standpoint, it seems like a damn great idea. I should, however, only buy ONE at first to see if it really is what it's cracked up to be.

For 200 I will just keep the trigger feeling I have been feeling all my life.
While no one ever listens to me,
I am constantly being told to be quiet.

    In a world of snowflakes,
    be the heat..
