Here in Texas it can be 85 degrees in the morning, severe thunderstorms with tornado's and hail in the afternoon, by sundown a possibility of snow. We are accustomed to unpredictable weather. To be a weatherman in Texas, you can make shit up and still be right.

If you lived in Western NY you would have 2 seasons: Winter and Bummer. Winter is when the sky is dark and gray and snow falls - for 9 months. Then bummer comes and the snow changes to rain.

There is, however, usually a weekend in August when we get to see that, yes, the earth really does orbit a star. Other than that... bummer.

Sadly, you make a good point.

New York does, however, lead the nation in the number one spot.. as the Least Free State.

Aside from the "downstate" area (Albany, NY city, etc...) the rest of NY is, believe it or not, a red state.

If you look at a voting map of NY, you will see that it's all red except for NY city and small areas around larger cities like Syracuse and Buffalo.

The state government is also riddled with corruption. Even the governor is a crook, but as the gov, he always finds someone to be his scapegoat.

I can't wait to GTF out of here.

krupski, i feel your pain. personally, i could take living in upstate ny over nj. i lived in indiana years ago. they had some silly laws about fireworks, booze, and firearms. now, things have gotten better. their taxes still suck. there's always hope things will change.

That's beautiful, a part me has great envy for you, but the desert has a beauty all it's own, you just have to look a little harder to find it. Our state "tree" has a bunch of pointy things all over it instead of leaves

Thanks dave and i have had those needles you speak of all in my arm before. Pollen count is over 5200 today. It is pretty (to me)
but the pollen turns all yellow.

Oh dave if you look in the center of the picture you will see a pink Dogwood my wife bought about 8 years ago.
Well the tree decided it was not happy in its color and now a third has turned white in the last couple of years.

30* change today. 72 high to a 42 high. But at least it is a damp cold...

Doing our best in central Indiana to combat Algore Global Warming by being 30 degrees below normal. Normal high for today is 67, we managed 37 with snow falling. This month is now in the top ten for snowfall and we are only halfway through. Woke up to 19 degrees. Tired of winter, and as always will never complain about the temps in mid July and August.
